How to Maximise Profits in the Off-Season

After a boom in summer sales, it can sometimes be a disappointment when the cooler months come around and dry things out. With people trying to save money and the weather taking a drastic turn, the off-season can be a bit of a revenue buster.

However, it doesn’t have to be this way.

Slush may be seen, by some, as a summer beverage but it’s highly versatile and can certainly adapt to the change in seasons.

While summer is an obvious profit booster for bars, restaurants and leisure centres, the cooler months boast an array of different events and opportunities to really sell your slush, regardless of the weather.

So, how can you maximise your profits in the off-season?

Drop prices

It can be counterintuitive to expect customers to pay summertime prices in the winter. If possible, try to lower your prices during the off-season to increase your revenues. Lower prices will entice customers to buy, even if it is a little cooler outside.

Introduce themed slush recipes

A change in the seasons can mean a change in your slush flavours. Get imaginative with your mixes and create slushes to suit various occasions throughout the year. Halloween, Bonfire Night, Christmas and New Year all happen within the off-season, why not mix up some creativity and try out some new slush recipes your customers will love?

Launch deals

Introducing offers such as 2-4-1 or ‘buy one, get one half price’ can be great incentives for the off-season. If you run a bar or club you can really push the 2-4-1 offer on slush cocktails, it’ll be hard for your customers to resist and gives them the opportunity to share with their friends.

Push marketing

Give your menus a winter rejig and put up posters around the premises to really advertise your slush creations. By shouting about what you offer you’ll entice people into trying out your slush, and as soon as one customer sees another customer with one, they’ll want a piece of the action too.
